Why such desires for destruction?
Why so many unjustified goodbyes,
glimmering with tears in the name
of someone’s twisted ideas for democracy?
Must freedom wear camouflage colors,
must the twilight cling in blood?
Why can’t we remain dreamers for a day?
Poets that clash in combat
only on the slippery whiteness
of an imaginary piece of paper,
ripe with stories about harmony?
Let’s leave the fractured beliefs
to the wind, cannons and rifles-
let them disappear under the dust.
Let there be peace, always, and hope-
in the hearts of those left behind.
